Damilola Adenola, one of the organizers of the ongoing hardship protest, stated that the protesters have not yet achieved their objectives. Adenola made this remark during an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today on Friday,Daily Trust reports.
He mentioned that if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu truly cared about the well-being of Nigerians, he should have come out to address them on the streets.
Adenola also refuted claims that the protests were being sponsored by some politicians.

“The protest is the initiative of economically deprived Nigerians,” he said. “The protesters have not yet achieved their objectives as outlined in our charter of demands. However, we have succeeded in making strong statements and sending messages to those in power. They now see the extent to which people can go to express their displeasure. This process has started and is ongoing. We are waiting for the government to respond to our demands, and until then, the protests will continue.
“We have shown people the power of holding the government accountable. This will bring the government to the realization that governance is about the people. The driving force behind this protest is hunger. It is economic inequality and deprivation that have compelled people to take to the streets.”
