First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has reassured Nigerians that the current challenging times will soon come to an end. This assurance was conveyed during a meeting with governors’ wives at the presidential villa in Abuja on Monday,Daily Trust report.
Mrs. Tinubu expressed optimism about the year 2024, predicting a period filled with peace, progress, prosperity, and notable achievements for the benefit of all Nigerians.
Acknowledging the need for collective effort during challenging times, she emphasized that the current hardship is temporary and will soon dissipate. Furthermore, she highlighted that the mission of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) is aligned with the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda under President Tinubu.

Mrs. Tinubu disclosed plans for the Women Agricultural Support Programme (WASP) under RHI, aiming to empower 20 farmers each from five states in the South East Zone with N500,000 each. Additionally, a total draft of N10 million will be allocated to the coordinators of RHI states. The National Agricultural Land Development Authority, in collaboration with RHI, will provide support to an additional 80 female farmers in each state through training, capacity building, and agricultural inputs. The initiative plans to purchase all produce from the farms after harvest.
The First Lady also announced her intention to launch the “Young Farmers Club” in public schools nationwide, encouraging farming among the younger population. Schools with outstanding farms will be recognized and rewarded with prizes such as renovations, science laboratory equipment, ICT resources, and upgrades to school libraries.
