Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has allocated a sum of N693 million to the Gombe State Agency for Community and Social Development (CSDA) for the third phase of intervention in the Gombe State COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (GO-CARES) program,leadership reports.

Haruna Ahmed Imam, the agency’s general manager, announced this following the conclusion of a training session for community groups, project management committees, and sub-committee heads responsible for implementing micro-projects in an additional 77 communities.

Imam attributed the release of funds to the governor’s satisfaction with the successful execution of projects in the previous batches under the GO-CARES program by the CSDA. He praised Governor Inuwa Yahaya for his ongoing support of community and social development initiatives, highlighting Gombe State’s commendable performance among other beneficiary states.

The purpose of the training, as explained by Imam, was to educate the communities receiving benefits on various aspects of project cycles, roles and responsibilities, sustainability and maintenance, community procurement, financial management, and bookkeeping. Emphasizing the importance of maintaining high standards, Imam urged the committees to diligently monitor project execution to completion, ensuring sustainability and accountability in order to justify the government’s disbursed funds.
