Governor Muhammadu Inuwa has granted his approval for the appointment of the chairman and members of the Gombe State Drugs and Medical Consumables Management Agency (GSDMCMA),leadership reports.
The announcement of the governor’s endorsement was made by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi. The newly appointed chairman is Dr. Ismail Jibrin Kwami, and the members include Hajiya Maimuna Idi, Dahiru Kala, and Dr. Danladi Adamu Bojude from the Federal Teaching Hospital FTH Gombe.

Additionally, the following individuals have been appointed as members: Alhassan Yahaya Abdullahi, representing Civil Society Organizations; the Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries of Justice and Health; and Pharm. Sebastine Zubairu, representing the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria. Others on the board are Dr. Ahmed Adamu Girbo, representing the Nigeria Medical Association; Idris Musa, representing the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives; Adamu Yusuf Degri, representing the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists; Umar Usman Gombe, representing the Community Health Practitioners Association; and a representative from NAFDAC. Pharm Caleb Faransa, the Executive Secretary of the agency, will serve as the secretary.
All of these appointments are effective as of October 11, 2023.
Governor Inuwa has also given his nod to the formation of the board for the Gombe Geographic Information Systems (GOGIS), with Professor James Kaltho as the chairman.
The SSG, conveying the governor’s approval, announced the following individuals as board members: Surv. Zakari Abubakar Difa, Ado Gabanni, Philomina Jabuwa, Maikano Abdullahi (Hakimin Doma), Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries of Justice, Environment, Finance, and Local Governments. The board also includes the Director of Lands, the Gombe State Surveyor-General, and the Director-General of GOGIS, Dr. Kabiru Usman Hassan. The legal adviser of the Agency will serve as the secretary.
All of these appointments take effect immediately.
