A real estate firm, Finn Grey Projects, has donated food items and toiletries to Little Saints Orphanage home in Akowonjo area of Lagos State as part of its social corporate responsibility, PUNCH Metro reports.
Other items that were donated to the orphanage home were bags of rice, cartons of noodles, spaghetti, toothpaste, drinks, dampers, among others.
Speaking after the donation during the Yuletide celebration, the founder of Finn Grey Projects, Olubisi Shaola, said that the donation of the items was their own little way of giving back to society after working throughout the year and appreciating God had done for the firm.
He said that it was Finn Grey Projects’ way of trying to make life better for the less privileged in society.
Shaola added, “The reason we decided to do this was to encourage other people who are looking for a way to give back to society no matter how little. It could be that there is a child on your street who needs to pay hospital bills. You can pay for that hospital bill and school fees. Let’s make this world a better place so that we can co-exist peacefully.
“We are going to embark on doing more by picking a particular place every month by cooking and sharing 100 plates of food.”
The Project Director of Finn Grey Projects, Afeez Akintayo, disclosed that the firm has concluded plans to visit schools to pick the best students in the schools and sponsor their education.
Akintayo, however, encouraged the children not to feel bad about their situations as they will overcome them with time.
While appreciating Finn Grey Projects and its team for their kind gesture, the Administrator at the Orphanage, Tina Odiong, said that they have six branches of the home in Lagos State and others outside Lagos State.
She said the children who are from ages 0 to 16, attend private schools, which include Nursery, Primary, secondary and private universities.
According to her, one of the children had just graduated from Crowford University and he was awaiting National Youth Service call-up.
She said,” Some of them are outside the country. One of the children is in the US Army and some travelled in November to the United Kingdom for their Master’s programme, some are also married and we have many grandchildren.”
