Professor Sagir Adamu Abbas, the Vice Chancellor of Bayero University Kano, has announced that 180 students from the institution will be graduating with first-class degrees during its forthcoming 38th convocation ceremony,Daily Trust reports.
The Vice Chancellor made this known during a pre-convocation press briefing held on Monday in Kano. He further revealed that a total of 317 students will be awarded doctorate degrees, while 3,770 will receive master’s degrees.
Aliko Dangote, Africa’s wealthiest individual, is slated to deliver the convocation lecture titled, “Role of the private sector in fostering a sustainable knowledge economy in Nigeria.”

Professor Abbas also highlighted that the university will confer honorary doctorate awards upon Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and the President of the African Development Bank, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, this year.
He remarked, “This year, we anticipate a total of 11,284 students graduating and receiving their degrees.”
