The Borno State government has allocated N55.9 million for the settlement of registration fees for 150 medical students. Revealing this development to reporters in Maiduguri yesterday, the executive secretary of the state scholarship board, Malam Bala Isa, specified that the recipients are natives of the state enrolled at the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare in Bauchi State,Daily Trust report.

Isa outlined that the students will pursue degrees in 11 diverse courses, encompassing Medicine, Dentistry, Radiography, Nursing, Environmental Health, and other related disciplines. He underscored that this scholarship initiative aligns with Governor Zulum’s 25-year development plan, aiming to enhance healthcare services, particularly in rural areas, by training more health professionals.

Assuring the continuity of financial support throughout the duration of their studies, Isa emphasized the state government’s commitment to sustaining the payments. Additionally, he conveyed the commissioner for education, science, technology, and innovation’s counsel to the students, urging them to dedicate themselves to their studies and make the most of the opportunities provided.

Isa expressed gratitude to Governor Babagana Zulum for his unwavering support to the board, acknowledging the significant relief it has brought to parents and guardians in their pursuit of their children’s education.
