Bauchi State Governor, Sen Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir on Friday joined 43 other eminent Nigerians who distinguished themselves to receive Nigeria Excellence Service Award in Public Service in recognition of his performance as Governor in the Rural Development and Economic Empowerment Initiative sectors, Apex News Exclusive reports.
The recognition followed the Governor’s performance in the transformation of the rural areas of the state through provision of roads network, construction of Healthcare facilities and rehabilitation of schools as well as Agricultural Intervention across the state.
The award by the Best Strategic Media TBS in collaboration with Office of Secretary to the Government of Federation (SGF), was presented by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
While presenting the award to the Governor, President Muhammadu Buhari congratulated him and other recipients for the honor and charged them to consolidate on the achievements towards attracting more recognitions.
Speaking shortly after receiving the award, Bala Mohammed expressed gratitude for the recognition and attributed the development to the support and cooperation his administration is receiving from the teaming populace of Bauchi State.
According to the Governor, it would further encourage him to do more in initiating policies and programmes aimed at impacting positively on the lives of the people especially at the rural level.
Other recipients of the award included former President Goodluck Ebele Johnathan, Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, Governors of Borno, Adamawa, Akwa- Ibom, Kano, Nassarawa and Rivers states.
Others are Ministers of Communication and Digital Economy, Isah Ali Pantami, Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), Lucky Irabor and NNPC Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari among others.
