Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed said another local government elections would be conducted in the next six months.

The governor gave the assurance while speaking during a meeting with former local government councillors who served under his administration in the first tenure.

Governor Mohammed, during meeting, held at Government House, said the gathering became necessary to appreciate chairmen who had served recently and performed well, leading to the victory of the Peoples Democtatic Party (PDP) in the 2023 general elections.

The governor explained that he invited the earstwhile chairmen, considering the various positive roles they played in the provision of dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots.

Governor Mohammed assured them that very soon, all their entitlements will be paid after computation by the relevant agencies, telling them to gear up for the next council elections in the next six months.

He told them that they have now become part of his political structure which will continue to play a pivotal role in his political journey under the aegis of Kaura Movement, which is becoming a massive movement across the country.

He expressed his appreciation for the roles they played as his representatives at the grassroots while serving, assuring them that some of them will get political appointments very soon while others may be lucky to be reelected during the elections.

While responding on behalf of the former Councillors in the 20 local councils, the former councillor of Dan’iya Ward in Bauchi local government council, Musa Ibrahim Zango, commended the governor for finding them worthy to be invited for a meeting and declared that all the 323 former Councillors are with him and will continue to support him to make Bauchi State better and well-developed.
