Bauchi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ahmed Jalam, has passed away,leadership reports.

Jalam died instantly in a tragic car accident on the Bauchi-Misau Road on Saturday.

Mukhtar Gidado, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Bauchi State Governor, confirmed Jalam’s death in a statement released to reporters.

“It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the sudden death of the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Bauchi State, Ahmed Aliyu Jalam (Mai kankana).

“Jalam was a dedicated public servant, unwavering in his commitment to the development and well-being of his local communities. During his lifetime, he championed numerous initiatives aimed at improving governance and community relations,” the statement read.

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, expressed deep grief over the loss of his longtime confidant.

In a condolence message issued by his new media aide, Lawal Muazu Bauchi, Governor Mohammed stated that Jalam’s sudden passing leaves a profound emptiness and casts a pall of mourning over the state. He was known for his tireless work and dedication to the administration and its growth.

The governor prayed for Almighty Allah to grant the deceased Aljannat Firdaus and to give his family and loved ones the strength to bear this great loss.

Jalam will be buried on Sunday in his hometown of Jalam, in the Dambam local government area of the state.
