The abducted daughters of a former member who represented Jama’are Itas Federal Constituency, Bashir Uba Mashema have regained freedom after spending two days in captivity.
The girls — Basma and Salaha —- were kidnapped Wednesday night when bandits stormed the politician’s house to kidnap him. But he away and the terrorists abducted his daughters.
In a brief telephone interview with WikkiTimes, the former lawmaker confirmed that his daughters have been released and safe with him at home. He, however, declined further questions about their release.
But a family member of the politician told WikkiTimes the abductees were released Friday midnight and were dropped by unknown persons at a junction leading to Mashema town.
“They were released on Friday midnight. They were dropped by unknown persons at a junction leading to Mashema town. They safely arrived home even though we don’t know whether a ransom was paid before they were released or not,” he said.
