Contrary to these reports, there have been no widespread violent protests in Kano State. The government is aware of isolated incidents involving small groups of children and hired thugs, but these do not reflect the overall situation. The administration of Abba Kabir Yusuf made the decision to legally abrogate the emirates and reinstate the 14th Emir of Kano after careful consideration of the state’s best interests. This move has been welcomed by many who appreciate the long-term benefits of a unified emirate structure.

The government further noted that some political actors are manipulating the situation to create chaos, using the media to spread false narratives and incite disorder. “Their actions are not representative of the genuine feelings of the citizens of Kano State but are driven by selfish ulterior motives,” the statement added.

The administration remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining peace and stability. It will continue to uphold law and order and protect citizens’ rights. The government urged the public to disregard sensationalized media reports and support efforts to create a cohesive and unified state. “The Kano State government, under the leadership of Abba Kabir Yusuf, remains committed to the state’s progress and development and calls on all citizens to join hands in this endeavor,” the statement concluded.
