Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Chief Nyesom Wike, acknowledged his endorsement of Sir Siminalayi Fubara for Rivers State governor in the 2023 elections as a mistake, promising to rectify it in due course. Addressing attendees during Senator George Sekibo’s grand civic reception in Ogu, Chief Wike admitted to errors in his judgment regarding Fubara and sought forgiveness from the people and his political allies,leadership reports.
Emphasizing the need for correction at an appropriate time, Chief Wike expressed his willingness to irk detractors to ensure they commit errors. He assured that no injunction, regardless of the timing of its acquisition, would impede the state’s adherence to legal processes and due diligence.
Responding to Governor Fubara’s camp’s recent actions in the ongoing political turmoil, Chief Wike dismissed any attempts to halt lawful proceedings. Regarding Fubara’s statement about refusing to worship anyone, Chief Wike clarified that he never demanded such reverence from anyone.
