On Sunday, a tragic motor accident claimed the lives of six family members of Maidalan Gombe, Alhaji Ahmad Abubakar, a revered traditional title holder in Gombe Emirate. The accident occurred along the Azare-Gombe road as they were returning from Azare town in Katagum Local Government Area of Bauchi State, near Misau LGA of Bauchi State,Daily Trust reports.
Among the deceased were Maidalan Gombe’s daughter, Zainab, her son Ahmad, as well as Ahmad Muhammad and Na’ima Muhammad, the children of his brother, Muhammad D.O., along with two others.
The funeral prayer for the departed souls took place at the Gombe Emir’s Palace and was attended by dignitaries including the Emir of Gombe, Alhaji Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya, and numerous sympathizers.

Governor Yahaya conveyed his condolences through his spokesperson, Ismaila Uba Misilli, expressing deep sorrow for the tragic loss and offering prayers for comfort during this difficult time.
The deceased were laid to rest at Gombe Central Cemetery along Gombe-Bajoga road following a funeral prayer led by the Chief Imam of Gombe, Sheikh Muhammad Umar Pindiga.
