The collaborative endeavors of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the military have led to the liberation of another female Prospective Corps Member, along with the bus driver who was abducted in Zamfara State while en route to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Sokoto State last year,leadership report.

Eddy Megwa, the Director of Press and Public Relations, announced on Monday that the total number of released Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) has now reached five. Notably, eight PCMs were kidnapped on August 17 in Zamfara while traveling from Uyo to Sokoto for national service.

Despite this success, Megwa emphasized that ongoing efforts are being made to secure the freedom of the remaining three individuals (one female and two males) still held captive.

In a statement, Megwa remarked, “The Director-General, NYSC, Brigadier General Y.D. Ahmed, expressed gratitude to the security agents for their unwavering efforts that led to the release of the PCMs. He reiterated the Scheme’s commitment to consistently uphold the welfare of Corps Members under all circumstances.”
