Barrister Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Economy, has urged compassionate Nigerians to rally around the ailing Nollywood actor Zack Orji, who recently underwent brain surgery on January 1, 2024,leadership reports.
Musawa conveyed this plea on Tuesday during her visit to the actor at a private hospital in Wuse, Abuja. Expressing sympathy for the veteran actor’s family, Musawa described Zack Orji as a national asset and emphasized the importance of collective support during this challenging time.
She stated, “God will heal him, and he will be well. We will do all we can to support him. We solicit the collective prayers of Nigerians because he is like a part of our families. We have watched him entertain us, and we see him as a national treasure. So the best we can do is to ensure that we support him to have the best treatment.”

Musawa pledged to reach out to other well-meaning Nigerians to provide support to Zack Orji through prayers and other means available, ensuring his survival through this ailment. She highlighted the actor’s significant contributions to the film industry, describing him as one of the individuals who laid the foundation for Nollywood.
The minister emphasized that the administration is committed to supporting artists like Zack Orji, acknowledging their role as national treasures. She stated, “This is not only about the Ministry which I am representing. You know that Zack Orji has been in the industry for decades. This is a man who has given his time and effort to entertain Nigerians.”
Ngozi Zack Orji, the wife of the Nollywood star, expressed gratitude to the minister for her benevolence and for taking the time to visit her husband. She shared the news of an emergency surgery that Zack Orji underwent, emphasizing that it saved his life. Ngozi Zack Orji requested the support of kind-hearted Nigerians through prayers and any assistance they may offer for his quick recovery.
