In an effort to foster peace and security in Kano State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) have entered into a peace agreement with the Kano State Police Force,leadership reports.
The gathering, conducted at the Bompai headquarters, represents the second peace accord in anticipation of the forthcoming judgment in the gubernatorial race, following a similar pact preceding the Appeal Court’s decision.
As the state awaits the Supreme Court’s ruling on the gubernatorial race, these joint initiatives underscore a shared commitment to maintaining peace and security in Kano State.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Muhammad Hussain Gumel, expressed gratitude to the two major political parties for their collaboration in ensuring stability.
With the approach of the New Year and Christmas festivities, CP Gumel emphasized the importance of ongoing dialogue with political and security stakeholders. Discussions also addressed the ongoing Kano State Governorship election case currently before the Supreme Court, with both parties pledging to uphold peace and security, safeguarding the lives and property of the community.
Gumel reassured the preparedness of the police force and other security agencies to ensure overall security in Kano State. He issued a warning to groups attempting to disrupt peace, making it clear that such actions would not be tolerated by the authorities.
The meeting, attended by various security forces, heads of local governments, and representatives from the APC and NNPP, highlights a collective commitment to stability in Kano State.
