At the recent second combined convocation of Al-Qalam University in Katsina State, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Nasiru Musa Yauri, announced that 104 students graduated with first-class degrees,leadership reports.

Over the period from 2016 to 2023, a total of 10,000 students completed their studies, with 9,894 earning bachelor’s degrees. The breakdown of bachelor’s degrees includes 1,910 with second-class upper division, 5,365 with second-class lower division, 2,399 with third class, and 116 with pass degrees.

Additionally, at the postgraduate level, seven graduates will receive their Doctor of Philosophy degrees (PhDs), 125 master’s degrees, and seven postgraduate diplomas.

Professor Yauri encouraged the graduating students to uphold good moral behavior and act as positive representatives of the university in their future endeavors. Alhaji Sani Zangon Daura, the pro-chancellor of the institution, highlighted that Al-Qalam University, established under the Katsina Islamic Foundation (KIF), is a non-profit and community university providing affordable educational opportunities to students from diverse backgrounds.

The institution conferred honorary doctorate degrees on notable figures, including the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmumin Kabir-Usman, the pro-chancellor Zangon-Daura, the Emir of Kazaure, Alhaji Najib Hussaini-Adamu, and Alhaji Abdulsamad Isiyaka-Rabiu.
