The Nigerian Army has reported that a notorious Boko Haram Terrorist (BHT) Commander named Bulama Bukar surrendered to troops of the 5 Brigade in Gubio, Borno State. Additionally, troops from the 2 Battalion conducted an ambush in Kaduna State, resulting in the death of three terrorists, but unfortunately, one soldier lost their life during the encounter,leadership reports.
Bulama Bukar, the surrendered terrorist, was the commander of the BHT Camp Tapkin Chad at Gilima village in Abadam local government area of Borno State. Items recovered from him included one AK47 rifle, five magazines, 44 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one magazine carrier jacket, one knife, one motorcycle, and N23,500.00 in cash.
The surrendered terrorist is currently undergoing profiling at a military facility.

In a separate operation, troops from the 2 Battalion ambushed and engaged terrorists in Kaduna State, resulting in the death of three insurgents. The troops also recovered a bandolier containing 111 rounds of 7.62 mm ammunition, one AK47 magazine, two motorcycles, one set of high-frequency communication radio, and two mobile phones from the fleeing insurgents. Unfortunately, one soldier lost their life during this encounter.
On the same day, troops from the 1 Brigade conducted a stop and search operation in Birnin Magaji LGA of Zamfara State and intercepted a suspected ammunition courier. Preliminary investigations revealed that the courier was on a mission to deliver ammunition to a bandit leader named Gishiri. The troops recovered a bag containing 224 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one mobile phone, and N4,000 in cash from the courier. The suspect is currently in custody and undergoing further investigations.
