The Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) has reinstated its regulatory services to one of its licensees, Globacom Limited, following the successful settlement of its outstanding financial obligations. These obligations included unpaid Spectrum Fees, Numbering Fees, and the Annual Operating Levy (AOL).

This decision comes shortly after the telecommunications company made a payment of N154 billion to the Nigerian government, representing a portion of the spectrum license renewal fees owed by the company.

In a press release provided to LEADERSHIP, the NCC also announced that it has canceled its previously planned enforcement action against Globacom for violating existing regulations by not clearing its debts, despite receiving multiple demand notices.

The Commission had previously suspended its regulatory services to Globacom temporarily, as indicated in a letter dated May 22, 2023, titled “Re: Continuous Breach of Commission’s Laws and Regulations.” However, when Globacom failed to meet the specified conditions for the earlier restoration, the suspension was automatically reinstated.
