El-Rufai Labels Tinubu’s Government as Nigeria’s “Worst and Most Corrupt”
Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has launched a scathing critique of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, calling it the most corrupt, intolerant, and dishonest government in Nigeria’s history,TheCable reports.
Speaking to journalists in Katsina on Monday night, El-Rufai didn’t hold back.
“This is the worst federal government in Nigerian history—every indicator shows it,” he said. “It is the most corrupt, the most intolerant, and the most dishonest. They rely solely on false propaganda.”
He accused the federal government of deceiving Nigerians about the state of insecurity in the country, citing the continued existence of notorious bandits and insurgents in the North despite government claims of progress.

“They claim they’ve killed key bandit leaders, but people like Dogo Gide, Mallam Abba, and Bello Turji are still active,” El-Rufai said. “Insecurity persists because the root causes haven’t been addressed.”
He further questioned the situation in several states: “How many local governments in Katsina, Zamfara, and Sokoto are still under bandit control? Yet, those in government act like nothing is wrong.”
El-Rufai, a former chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), also predicted that the Social Democratic Party (SDP) would unseat the APC in the 2027 general election.
He was in Katsina to offer condolences to Governor Dikko Radda over the passing of his mother.
Meanwhile, El-Rufai was part of a delegation led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar that visited ex-President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna last Friday. The delegation included several former governors and politicians from across the country. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), El-Rufai described the visit as one for “unity and brotherhood.”
