Dangote Refinery Reduces Petrol Price by N65, Offers Relief Ahead of Ramadan

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, by N65, bringing the cost down from N890 to N825 per litre, effective February 27, 2025,Daily Trust reports.

Under this new pricing structure, fuel will be available at N860 per litre at MRS outlets in Lagos.

According to Dangote, this adjustment aims to provide financial relief to Nigerians ahead of the Ramadan season, while also aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery policy by easing the cost burden on citizens.

This marks the second price reduction of PMS in February 2025, following an earlier N60 decrease earlier in the month. Similarly, in December 2024, during the Yuletide season, the refinery slashed petrol prices by N70.50, from N970 to N899.50 per litre, as part of its commitment to reducing the cost of living.

With this latest reduction, Dangote petrol will now be sold at the following prices across its retail partners:

  • MRS Holdings Stations
    • Lagos: N860 per litre
    • South-West: N870 per litre
    • North: N880 per litre
    • South-South & South-East: N890 per litre
  • AP (Ardova Petroleum) & Heyden Stations
    • Lagos: N865 per litre
    • South-West: N875 per litre
    • North: N885 per litre
    • South-South & South-East: N895 per litre

Commitment to Supply & Economic Growth

Dangote Refinery reassured the public of a stable fuel supply, with sufficient reserves to meet domestic demand and a surplus for export, aimed at boosting Nigeria’s foreign exchange earnings.

The company urged petroleum marketers to support this initiative, ensuring that Nigerians benefit fully from the price reduction.
