The Israeli military has reportedly killed at least 40 Palestinians despite a recently announced truce.
According to Al Jazeera, Israeli forces have intensified their attacks on the Gaza Strip following the truce announcement.Daily Trust reports.
The deaths occurred as the Israeli cabinet prepared to vote on the terms of the deal. A Hamas official, Izzat al-Risheq, stated that the agreement, reached in Doha, Qatar, fulfills all of Hamas’s conditions. These conditions include the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces, the return of displaced residents to their homes, and a permanent cessation of hostilities.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed gratitude to U.S. President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump for their roles in advancing an agreement aimed at ending “the suffering of dozens of hostages and their families.”
Since the conflict began on October 7, 2023, Israel’s military operations in Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 46,707 Palestinians and injuries to 110,265 others.
