President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Tajuddeen Abbas, governors, senators, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, and Mamman Daura, nephew of former President Muhammadu Buhari, were among the prominent dignitaries who attended the wedding fatiha of the children of Deputy Senate President, Senator Barau I. Jibrin,Daily Trust reports.

The ceremony celebrated the union of Senator Barau’s son, Jibrin Barau I. Jibrin (Abba), with Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero, daughter of the former Emir of Bichi, as well as his daughter, Aisha Barau I. Jibrin, with Engineer Abubakar, son of Dr. Abdulmunaf Yunusa Sarina, President of the Azman Group of Companies. The event took place at the National Mosque in Abuja, following the two raka’at Juma’at prayers.

President Tinubu, represented by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, served as both Wakil and Waliy for the Deputy Senate President’s children. Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje acted as the Waliy for Maryam Nasir Ado Bayero, while former Governor of Nasarawa State, Senator Tanko Almakura, served as Wakil for Engineer Abubakar. The wedding was officiated by the Imam of the National Mosque, Professor Ibrahim Maqari.

The ceremony drew top politicians, business leaders, and traditional and religious figures from across the nation, spanning various political parties.

Notable governors in attendance included Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq (Kwara State), Peter Mbah (Enugu State), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara State), Dikko Umar Radda (Katsina State), Ahmed Usman Ododo (Kogi State), and Mai Mala Buni (Yobe State), among others.

Prominent senators in attendance included Ahmad Lawan (former Senate President), Ali Ndume, Sani Musa, Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai, Aminu Iya Abbas, Buhari Abdulfatai, Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Ikira Aliyu Bilbis, Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, Salihu Mustapha, Shehu Buba, Abdul Ningi, Abdullahi Yahaya, Kamorudeen Adekunle Adedibu, Danjuma Goje, Lawal Usman, and Kawu Sumaila.

The event also welcomed members of the ECOWAS Parliament, including Fourth Deputy Speaker Billay G. Tunkara.

Other dignitaries present included Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Senator George Akume, Chief of Staff and former Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Malam Nuhu Ribadu, and Special Assistant to the President on Political Affairs Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari.
