The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum and Governor of Bauchi State, Senator Bala Mohammed, has stressed the importance of establishing permanent leadership within the party, leadership reports.

Currently, the PDP is led by Acting National Chairman Alh. Ilya Umaru Damagum. Mohammed noted, “The PDP needs permanent leadership because, at present, our brother from the North-East is serving as acting national chairman, which does not align with the party’s constitution.”

He further explained that the party’s constitution mandates that any vacancy should be filled by someone from the region where it was created. “The North Central region has expressed interest in this position, and we have discussed the matter. We will work with the acting national chairman and the National Working Committee (NWC) to ensure that the North Central is given the opportunity to assume this responsibility,” he added.
