Leaders and youth of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State have begun strategizing to reclaim the state in the 2027 elections,Daily Trust reports.
The party’s Youth Leader, Mustapha Muhammed Binji, disclosed this during an interview following an extended meeting on Sunday. The gathering included executives and youth leaders from all 23 local government areas of the state.
According to Muhammed Binji, the meeting was a critical step in the party’s preparations for ensuring a successful outing in 2027.
“People are tired of the APC governments in the state and at the national level due to the hardship in the country. They are now yearning for change, and we believe only the PDP can bring that change,” he stated.

He urged party members to unite and work together toward their shared goal of unseating the APC government in the state.
In his remarks, the state party chairman, Alhaji Bello Goronyo, expressed the PDP’s commitment to bringing change to the state, citing the alleged lack of capacity in the current administration.
“The present government has destroyed our civil service and shown total disregard for traditional institutions,” he claimed.
Goronyo emphasized the importance of youth in electoral success, highlighting their involvement in the party’s operations at all levels. He called for their continued support, which he described as essential to reclaiming the state in the next election.
