The Managing Director of the Railway Management Company Limited, a subsidiary of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Mr. Timothy A. Zalanga has narrated how a policeman identified as Aminu Muhammad lost his life when gunmen attacked his convoy,Dailytrust report.

Speaking when he paid a condolence visit to the Down Quarters Police Station in Kaduna South, the MD said on 18th November, 2022, gunmen attacked his convoy in Gonin Gora, a community in Kaduna South on their return from Abuja around 9pm.

He said, “Aminu Muhammad, an inspector who was in the front seat was shot while myself, the driver and Sergeant Allen Moses escaped the attack.”

He prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed policeman and assured of the company’s continuous support to the family.

He then presented an undisclosed cash token to the officer who survived and also a motorcycle to the station.

According to him, “We decided to present the motorcycle to the station in order to ease your response to the community because we have been briefed on the difficulties you encounter when the community is distressed. We hope to present a vehicle for you early next year.”

He recalled, “The late Aminu was communicating with his family telling them that he will be home soon when the incident occurred. We have been in contact with the family even though we know that there is nothing anybody can do to bring him back, we can only give our little support.”

Responding, the Division Police Officer (DPO), Superintendent of Police, Victor Allahmagani thanked the management of the company for coming to condole with them and for the donation saying it will ease their work a great deal.
