Samuel Ortom, governor of Benue state, says the 2023 election is the only opportunity Nigerians have to restore the nation’s dignity,TheCable report.

Speaking on Sunday at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Gboko, the governor said Nigeria is going through hardship and the only way to salvage the situation is for citizens to collect their permanent voter cards (PVC) and vote for trusted leaders in the forthcoming elections.

Ortom also assured the citizens that their votes will count with the technology deployed by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the elections.

“The 2023 election is the only opportunity we have. So, those who are yet to collect their PVCs, please, I beg you in the name of God to do so because that is the only way you can exercise your franchise and restore hope and dignity to our country by electing leaders that have been tested and trusted who you can rely on and work with,” he said.

“One vote can make a difference. So, if you want a change that will bring dignity and restoration to our country and promote economic development and add value to the development of humanity and restore security, that vote will count.

“This time, there is no snatching of ballot boxes because it will not be there for anybody to snatch.

“Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) will make a difference. And so your physical presence and participation is very important.”

Ortom urged the citizens to stay steadfast and resilient as 2023 approaches, noting that Nigerians will have the fulfilling lives they seek through prayers, faith, and works.
